Summary

Authors Robin Moore and Michael Lennon team up in this exciting new novel to tell the "fictionalized" stories of the men who have risked it all for the U.S.A.: the Green Berets. They take us from firefights on the Cambodian border during the Vietnam War to the streets and alleyways of Iraq today. They teach us what it was really like to patrol the streets of Mogadishu in the days of Black Hawk Down. They show the horror that was Saddam's Iraq during the first Gulf War. They take us to the moonscape that is Afghanistan in search of the Taliban. The Wars of the Green Berets continues the saga of Moore's classic The Green Berets, revealing more than a few tantalizing secrets and anecdotes for the first time.©2007 Robin Moore and Michael Lennon (P)2012 Audible, Inc. Editor reviews

The United States Army Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets, handle the most high-risk, unconventional, undercover missions in the U. S. military. And now, in Robin Moore and Michael Lennon's The Wars of the Green Berets: Amazing Stories from Vietnam to the Present Day, listeners learn exactly what goes on when these brave, intelligent men are in the field. A riveting performance from narrator Tori Kamal brings tension to these fictional stories, including battles against Al Qaeda, undercover missions inside Iraq during the reign of Saddam, and fighting on the Cambodian border during the Vietnam War - tales sure to thrill and terrify an audience yearning to experience the realities of special reconnaissance and counter-terrorism.

I like SF type film and books but not seen much on the Green Berets when I ask our SF they always say you mean delta force or seals ? It’s worth listening this informative audible book.

Very honest and interesting

This an interesting book but I found that the writers used to many military terms when breaking down something say POW pirsioner of war which I personally did not think needed to be there it would have been better just explaining the history of the Green Berets in there battles but that is my opinion and I would recommend this book.

Green Berets

Great book with great stories but has the edge taken of with a dull monotonous sleep inducing narrator, and to say that the narrator uses acronyms in the extreme would be a huge understatement.

listen to in daylight hours

The narrator should have read the glossary of terms before reading the main text. Where there was a rank abbreviation such as Maj, he stated each letter rather than correctly using the rank, “Major”. This became increasingly annoying and distracting as time went on.
Interesting to hear about Delta Forces search for WMD in Iraq.

Interesting Account Ruined by the Narrator

Horrendously bad storytelling. Authors keep droning on about what classes particular soldier took in highschool, which sports they played and for which clubs and then spend 5minutes talking about combat and jumping all over the place. Timelines are all mixed up. All of a sudden, in the middle of Vietnam war, they start talking about random Iraqi politician. Story of Mogadishu revolves around some soldier's education for 50 pages and then talks about his 5 minutes in the Black Hawk Down combat skipping over all the most interesting parts and ending without ending it. Horrendously bad narration. Dude reading this 90% of the time sounds like very basic AI script. Doesn't know basic military ranks and reads abbreviation for Major as M A J.
Complete waste of a Credit!
