About this listen
As the daughter of a London crime boss, PC Philomena McCarthy walks a thin blue line keeping the two sides of her complicated life apart.
On patrol one night she discovers a child in pyjamas, wandering alone. Taking Daisy home, Phil uncovers the aftermath of a deadly home invasion, as three miles away a prominent jeweller is found strapped to an explosive in his ransacked store.
The crimes are linked, and all the evidence points to Phil's father as the mastermind.
Phil's two worlds are colliding, trapping her in the middle of a vicious gang war that will threaten her career and everyone she loves.
Who can she trust - the badge or her own blood?

PRAISE FOR THE WHITE CROW
I raced through The White Crow. It's another tour de force from Michael Robotham. He is so good at humanising his characters - even the nasty ones (LINWOOD BARCLAY)
It's a rare treat to read crime fiction and adore the entire ensemble of characters. Everyone from PC Philomena McCarthy to Detective Keegan to Eddie McCarthy and his three old-school criminal brothers is so beautifully drawn - you tear through the pages praying they can be trusted. The pace clips along and the plot is full of lovely jinks and twists (LAINIE ANDERSON)
Tension imbues this dark tale, with action reaching a scary crescendo . . . End-to-end excitement for crime fans
A tense, fast-moving and hard to put down novel
The research is impeccable, the plot simple: a kind of Good versus Evil, building to a fiery shoot-out on Bonfire Night . . . And who can not be engaged by a girl [PC Philomena McCarthy] who can talk to small children, has a black belt in karate and who can kill a villain with a kick?
A stunning crime novel (BOOKLIST)
Tense, fast moving and hard to put down (BELFAST HERALD)
Aussie crime master Michael Robotham delivers yet another thriller loaded with twists and turn . . . little wonder he has sold more than eight million books (GEELONG ADVERTISER)
The White Crow is taut, smart, gritty, with twists and turns and compulsively readable.
My only warning: don't open the first chapter unless you've cleared your schedule. It's that addictive (GOOD READING MAGAZINE)

Definitely his most exciting novel to date. Highly recommended (MURDER AND MAYHEM BLOG)
Michael Robotham is Australia's premier crime writer and has deservedly earned world-wide acclaim and awards . . . This is a fast paced, highly accomplished crime novel with plenty of excitement and surprises . . . topped off with a neat final twist (CANBERRA TIMES)
This is another standout thriller from Robotham. Fans of Peter Swanson and Liz Moore will delight in the complex characters and layered plotlines that he delivers (US LIBRARY JOURNAL)
The plot is sleek and elegant, with interlocking story lines that culminate in a big, bloody finale. Readers will be sold on the prospect of another Philomena McCarthy mystery even before they put this one down (PUBLISHERS WEEKLY, STARRED REVIEW)

Gripping
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
As I listened to about three books a week and enjoy most, i really appreciate when one stands out and this one did for me.
There's extras to a story and a deepness to the characters that make it stand out.
And I never once questioned the narration. Sometimes in other books I wonder if the narrator is representing the characters in the way the author wrote them. This didnt happen here, I was told a story I really enjoyed.
I'm really hoping that it hear these characters again and wonder how the story of Filomena continues.
What i needed
