About this listen

Victoria Barnett has it all: a great career as a nurse practitioner, a handsome and loving husband, a beautiful home in the suburbs, and a plan to fill it with children. Life is perfect—or so it seems. Then she’s in a terrible accident...and everything falls apart. Now Victoria is unable to walk. She can’t feed or dress herself. She can’t even speak. She is confined to the top floor of her house with 24-hour care.

Sylvia Robinson is hired by Victoria’s husband to help care for her. But it turns out Victoria isn’t as impaired as Sylvia was led to believe. There’s a story Victoria desperately wants to tell...if only she could get the words out. Then Sylvia discovers Victoria’s diary hidden away in a drawer. And what’s inside is shocking.

Overall a good story. Did not enjoy listening to the narrater kind of spoilt the book a bit for me

Narrators voice was distracting

While I did enjoy this book, there are a few things I found frustrating. Firstly, I found the narration a bit irritation especially when narrating the voice of Victoria. It just grated on me a bit but maybe that’s a personal preference, I’m sure lots of people wouldn’t mind. The story was good but it wasn’t as gripping as other books by this author in my opinion and I didn’t find it as ‘twisty’, I felt like I had a good idea of what was going on and what would happen early on.

Good read but not my fav from this author

I loved the pace and suspense. Story was great too. Only downside was repetitive tones/descriptions. If you can move past that it’s great.

Suspense built up towards the end
