About this listen

Rock bottom isn’t the end, it’s the beginning.
On his deathbed, Beau’s father reveals a life-changing secret. One big enough to send him into a tailspin of boozing and denial for a year.
When Beck, a single mom new to town, shows up at his automotive shop, he isn’t expecting to meet the woman who will tear him from depression and turn his life around.
And she doesn’t expect to catch the eye of a man ten years younger than her. What would he want with a single mom with a baby?
Each of them holds their own pain, both fight to understand and release their past, and together the two of them discover the truth about love and family.

The Wild One is a single mom, reverse age gap romance that was sweet, steamy, kinky and emotional and is my first novel by Daisy Jane.

Both the main characters went through life changing events, that was relatable and made them stronger. Beau is a 26 year old mechanic who recently lost his father and Beck is a 37 year old new mom who recently got a divorce.

Beau was a charming cinnamon roll hero. He was wise and mature beyond his years and watching him fall for Beck's son was so swoony. He fell fast and hard for Beck and I loved his inventive way of spending time with her when she refused to go out with him because of his age.

The chemistry and steam between them was undeniable and even though it was a bit of a slowburn at the start, when the steam came it sure sizzled. The story really embraced the lactation kink by bringing it into the relationship.

I will admit that while I liked Beck, she did some things that really irritated me and I really wanted to shake some sense into her for a good part of the novel.

This story was a well-written tale and is the start of The Wrench Kings series. I cant wait for the next book and would definitely recommend this novel.

🎧I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Daisy Jane and Jason Clark. They were fantastic together. Jason is a favorite and enjoyed being introduced to Daisy's narration style. Both their voices blended well together and they brought the story to life. It was an absolute pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Loved it

This could have been such a great book that would easily be 5 stars but the FMC was ridiculously annoying. She was constantly worrying about the MMC being too young and immature yet he was the mature one in their relationship. Honestly she doesn’t deserve him at all. She constantly made mistakes that would hurt him and she did that willingly multiple times even when her best friend repeatedly told her she was in the wrong and she didn’t change. Was so frustrating to read and wished the MMC ended up with a FMC that was worthy of him and who he deserved. The narrators did an amazing job.

Frustrating read.
