About this listen

Wanted: An Experienced Player To Teach Me The Rules

When I finally admit my attraction to men might be more than just curiosity, I start questioning everything about myself. I’d always been told I couldn’t be gay and play rugby, but my teammates are proof that isn’t true.

Now I’m fixated on all the filthy things Ezra, the Knights’ hot, older Head of Marketing, might do to me. Maybe I shouldn’t be flirting with him, but I’m too intrigued to stop. Ezra’s life is as messy as mine, however when he offers me a safe way to explore my feelings without judgement I can’t resist.

Neither of us is here for a relationship, and neither of us is ready for one… So why does Ezra make me feel things I’ve never experienced before?

Would it be wrong for me to fall for the man with the shattered heart?

Winger is the first book I’ve read by Charlie Novak. She’s attending Indie Love next year and I was curious about her books. This is a sports romance and a gay awakening.

Danny has split up with his misses and wants to try new things. He starts with a drink and then goes after the bigger things he wants. He has a new start and isn’t holding back.

Ezra works with Danny as a social media outlet. When he sees Danny take an interest in him he can’t resist showing his a new path.

Winger is spicy, horny and a happily ever after.

✅ Low angst
✅ a touch of sport
✅ M/M romance
✅ Spicy
✅ Workplace romance
✅ Standalone within a series

Audiobook read. Dan Calley reads Winger really well, but there was no difference in voice between each POV and it made it harder for me to settle into the two characters as distinct people. This is a gay awakening and Dan’s voice is a little ‘camp’, which is fine, but to me, it wasn’t as believable. An m/m romance is obviously going to end with a gay romance but I’d of liked a less predictable tone of voice.
