About this listen

It has been generations since the Northlands have seen a hero worthy of the title. Many have made the claim, but few have lived to defend it. Timid, weak, and bullied, Wulfric is as unlikely a candidate as there could be.

A chance encounter with an ancient and mysterious object awakens a latent gift, and Wulfric's life changes course. Against a backdrop of war, tragedy, and an enemy whose hatred for him knows no bounds, Wulfric will be forged from a young boy into the Wolf of the North. This is his tale.

I have enjoyed this book far more than any other that I have listened to on audio, its an amazing story beautifully written, gritty, warm and powerful, I have now listened to the next two books that are in the trilogy and all I can say its an amazing story that keeps you wanting more and keeps your attention all the way, with sorrow loss and violence and the rise of an incredible character called Wolfrick be prepared to get very emotional and held fast by the pace of these books, with other interesting characters that become part of a very believable story

Fantastic tale with an amazing lead character

After reading Society of the Sword, I had to try this too! I hadn’t realised it was set in the same world, but was very pleased to find it is!
Literally couldn’t put this down and immediately started book 2.
And Simon, well, what can I say!? It’s so easy to understand how the storytellers of old made a living wandering from town to town telling their stories listening to someone of Simon’s calibre! Love it!

Fantasy at its best!
