About this listen

Scarlet has finally started to acclimate to her new situation as a half blood lycan and Guardian. She's joined an Association run by the man who raised her, has participated in several Fractures fighting against the demons, and is now finally attaining her goal of joining a University.

But unlike what she originally planned, this university is a Guardian's University. And their students are all Guardians who spend half of their time fighting the demons and the other half learning how to fight them rather than studying the usual topics.

How will she adapt to this new environment? And what's the deal with her heritage?

Will she survive the year full of Demonic Assaults? Win the ranking tournaments?

Join her to find out.

This is such a well-thought-out title. The story is unfolding at a steady but not rushed pace. I think the best part is the depth of the characters that you can feel have much to offer. I certainly hope they will release the whole series as na audiobook, because those narrators are really bringing it to life!

complex story and great narrators!

It may even be better, the battles are entertaining and they aren’t milked for word count. It also doesn’t really lose pace even in the middle of a tournament arc, as there are other things to think about whilst reading about placements. The author seems to understand that you can have several story-beats going on at once so long as you don’t overcomplicate them. I can see how people see this kind of book as predictable but that is also the charm in reading this kind of literature. It’s not challenging your expectations but reveling in the excitement of telling us parts of a larger mystery while hanging out with a lone wolf and a raccoon.

Not to mention I also like the dual voice acting and I was both smiling and laughing at several places where I might not have if I had simply read this book. Huge props. Waiting for the next one and hoping that the mystery gets to be really good.

Just as good as the first one
