Listening to this book made me see Rome in a whole new light. It's like I was there, watching as kings and emperors rose and fell. The stories of battles and politics were so gripping, I couldn't stop listening. I was surprised by how much the Romans did that still affects us today. Hearing about Caesar and Cleopatra, I felt like I was in the middle of their plots and plans. The fall of the empire felt sad, but it was so interesting to understand why it happened. This book made history easy to follow, not like some school textbook LOL!

Another great addition to ancient history, an excellent narrator that makes the listener eager to hear the next chapter. These books are very well researched and organized and presented. I think they would be an excellent addition to any high school or even college curriculum. The format of audiobooks also lends itself to easy digestion by young people on the go (or any age for that matter!). It's also so important to know history because then we can see parallels with our own day and age even though we feel we are so technologically savvy, the human condition doesn't change much over the centuries. Highly recommend!
