About this listen

Nadia Williams needs somewhere peaceful to sort through her grief after her mother is brutally murdered. She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest.

The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect.

The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window.

The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.

But soon, Nadia learns the lore around her cabin and how the townsfolk are certain it’s haunted by the ghost of the man who was murdered there 15 years before.

Riggs and Nadia are suddenly thrown into a tangled web of history, betrayal, grief, secrets, with only one thing certain.

Someone—or something—wants them off that lake.

The make narrator had a serious annoying voice and quite put me off the book

Bad choice of narrator

Well, I have to say this one didn’t hit the same as books 1 and 2. It may be because the story centred around a crime from the past, and it was more of a digging up of secrets from history. However, I still enjoyed it. It just wasn’t my fave of the three.

Stella and Lance do a great job of bringing Nadia (the daughter of a vodka empire owner) and Doc (a builder), who is her neighbour on the lake.

There is a series of secrets uncovered, and we get to the bottom of an unsolved mystery from long ago.

Still no clues about the plot because I do think going into these books blind is best. Just know there is plot, small-town gossip, and spice.

Another great story in this series.

Wow what a fantastic book. I love this series and all the different complex characters. This book is so different from the others but just as good as a previous two as well the drama the intrigue and anticipation makes this book compelling to listen to. I love these narrator. They do a wonderful job of bringing the story to life. Can’t wait for the next book now.

Fabulous book

This was a reasonably interesting book in the Misted Pines Series but the narrators were not a good fit. The female sounded bored and the male just added nothing to the story. It was a slog to finish but I'd paid for it so I did.

Interesting story, shame about the narrators

I absolutely adore the Misted Pines Series (and most of Kristen Ashleys other books). She allways manages to balance the different elements of the story perfectly; romance, character development, the crime & through all of her books there is a sense of ‘coming home’ that I adore. It took some time to get used to the narrators. The voice for Nadia a bit too timid & the male not quite matching Riggs in my mind. But it worked out ok.

Lovely mystery in one of my favorite series
