This is not a casual story, and you are expected to keep up, but if you do the rewards are rich, hellish dreamscapes and a twisting narrative that keeps you on your toes until the final chapters. I bounced between the audiobook and ebook towards the end because I got into my stride and needed to know how the threads finally wove together.
