I loved how this book explained various things by the narrators and the author. I liked the accompanying PDF showed different things within the All Souls books as well.

Interesting and informative.

As a last read following Harkness’s trilogy a d times convert it is a necessary accompaniment to the stories . My only is the pronouncement of babes by the narrator.. Burghley, Meridiana, Huguenot etc etc

Great historical roots

The interview was interesting, and some of the articles informative, although mostly they rehashed the novels. I was hoping for more background and less quoting of the trilogy. Several entries are repetitive- did anyone proofread the John Dee section? How many times do we have to be told that Kelley persuaded Dee to share their wives because ’an angel told him’? The inclusion of the summaries was a mistake - they add nothing to the book.

The main narrator has a warm voice, but it is spoiled by excruciating pronunciation mistakes - not only in French (‘Auri-lac’) and Italian (e.g., she consistently mispronounces Michele, saying it as though it were in French), but also in English (e.g. pronouncing archangel as arCH-angel, Lord Burghley as Lord Berg-lee, and many other such lazy errors). She even mispronounces character names like Verin. I wish Jennifer Ikeda had narrated all but the author sections. As it is, I switched to the Kindle version.
