About this listen

When Jason loops back in time, he thinks he can save his brother’s life – but the past is not so easily rewritten…

Haunted by the tragic loss of his brother, Archie, in a fire, Jason is given a miraculous chance to rewrite history. Following a mysterious accident, he wakes to find himself transported back a year, with Archie alive and well.

Jason sets about changing the course of history to prevent his brother’s death. Instead, he discovers unsettling secrets about the people around him – from those in his closest circle to Archie himself – until the shocking truth about what will happen on the night of the fire reveals itself.

As danger looms and secrets unravel, Jason finds himself in a nail-biting race against time to save his brother from his grim fate.

The Year I Lived Twice is a gripping tale of love, loss, and resilience. Join Jason on a journey through time, where every decision carries the weight of destiny and every moment holds the promise of redemption.

I am left reeling from this time travel thriller, pondering over fate vs. free will and the butterfly effect as it relates to our choices. The author does an incredible job at portraying Jason's desperation to save his brother which left me heartbroken and holding my breath the entire time. The time travel logic itself might not hold up to a great amount of scrutiny, but the emotional center of this story and the entanglement of those in relationships more than compensates for that. The politics of grief, and perhaps our willingness to do whatever it takes to change the past if only we were given the opportunity, linger with me after reading this novel. Long after I read the last page, I still think about who those characters were, and what moral dilemmas they were facing

I found this book intriguing as we follow Jason as he accidentally travels back in time and re-lives his life after a tragedy occurred. As he is re-living his life, he is trying to make some changes in the hope that he will be able to prevent the tragedy that happened. I found it interesting to follow him on his quest, look over his shoulder, and observe what choices he makes the second time around - highly recommended if you are interested in this type of alternative path type of stories.

Intersting story!
