About this listen

Can you be an atheist and still believe in God?

Can you be a true believer and still doubt?

Can Zen give us a way past our constant fighting about God?

Brad Warner was initially interested in Buddhism because he wanted to find God, but Buddhism is usually thought of as godless. In the three decades since Warner began studying Zen, he has grappled with paradoxical questions about God and managed to come up with some answers. In this fascinating search for a way beyond the usual arguments between fundamentalists and skeptics, Warner offers a profoundly engaging and idiosyncratic take on the ineffable power of the "ground of all being."

I thought Brad was a great narrator (it doesn't always work to voice your material). Really relaxed and natural and very funny. Look forward to listening to more of his audio books.

Really interesting

A really interesting and thorough examination of Zen and God, with plenty of good humour thrown in. Thanks Brad.

As above. I'm loving the wisdom and fluency of this audiobook. Such a welcome read/listen. No preaching, no axe to grind. The title says it all: zen wisdom, taking us beyond conceptual cages: materialism, atheism, God, The Church....to reality. God is definitively not a white guy in the sky or a theological system of thought.
Religious types can squabble like Godzilla nerds at a convention....if they can get past the concepts, they should be the best of buddies.
This book is an absolute treasure and through the language of zen and the wit and experience of this great guy- he adds a freshness to this theme. Beautifully put together!

Ex Catholic monk lapping this wisdom up!
