Summary

Magic runs the world. It wins wars, grows crops, enables trade, and even fixes the crapper. If magic runs the world, then the men and women who wield it rule the world. But not all witches and wizards are created equal.

Rhett Allen is the thirdborn son of a minor lord trying to figure out his life after university. When a sudden family catastrophe throws his plans into chaos, he must make a decision. Should he do what people expect him to do or chart his own course? With all the gold to his name, he sets off into a chaotic world of dangerous creatures, even more dangerous humans, and other situations that no thirdborn should face alone. Thankfully, he meets a few good women along the way.

Warning: Thirdborn is 18+. It contains adult situations, language, violence, and harem elements.

After finishing "The Advenures of Grave" series from this author, whose 1st book I discovered in 2 for 1 sales in December of 25, I found out this book included in Plus Catalogue up to 14/1.

The premise, linqustically, geographically, biologically, magically and social norms, power levels as described does not make sense in how story actually proceeds.

It is White God/Magical Cristianity on Steroids, 10 Comandments, Inqusition, Crusades still ongoing, Magic, Oceans ruled by magical monsters, so Ships Fly, etc, etc...

Story: 3rd born Noble weakass in one Kingdom from many Kingdoms in part of North America's Continent(up to Mississipi River, afterwards it is Wild Land with natives and magical monsters), attends local University with Magical lesons, bangs Noble and Norm girls left and right(Except White God comandments exist, and Noble girls like his sister keeps themselves pure before wedding(presumably same for Norm girls)), lazes around instead of learning as much magic as possible for years, is a entrepreneur responsible in inventing hand held guns(magical cannons/lances existed for long time) with his crew of magical researcher and blacksmith, always cassually dissing non-New Worlders, acts like typical American from 21st century and uses the same vocabulary...despite US never existing in that universe, is an absolute hypocrite and a wanker who thinks with his D.

But lo and behold, plot armour saves his daft arse time and time again, finds girls for him, money, opurtunities, etc...teenagers might like it lol

Compared to any book from "The Advenures of Grave" series this is trash, but then it is one of the early works of the author. Might listen to other books in series if it will go on 2 for 1 sale...otherwise, NOPE.

What a mess from pile of refuse

The protagonist is a damsel who's a spectator at best and who's perpetual sour mood is contagious. The author has succeeded with removing every scrap of agency this MC could have with him being put into situations far beyond his abilities only for plot armor to rescue his ass over and over again.

Things don't improve, there's no light at the end of the tunnel, no progress in the MCs character or capabilities, hell, he doesn't even learn any damn healing spells. Hes just a pawn to be used by people vasty more powerful than him.

The narration was great, but couldn't rescue this book. This will be the last time I'll try anything from this author. Avoid.

The protagonist isn't the main character
