I enjoy almost all of Lisa Jewell’s books. This has been a huge disappointment, mainly because of the narrator. The story itself starts off promisingly, and I feel I might have rated it a lot higher but for one major problem. The narrator is way over the top in her characterisation. This unfortunately left me disliking all of the people in the book. The men especially come over as idiots, and it was a shame as beneath it all, I believe there was an enjoyable tale. My advice would be to read the book rather than listen to it.

Spoilt by narrator

Fancied this book as it was 15 hours listening time, thought I would be able to stretch the listen out to maybe 2 weeks! Oh boy, I got so engrossed in Dig and Deans story, I finished it in 4 days. The characters were brought to life by the narrator. I laughed and cried, especially when Dig turned up at Deans door. Brilliant book, highly recommend it.

Love, love , loved it!
