I am so enjoying Rita Potter's novels as there is lots to keep you interested. There are tangible things to make you enjoy the characters (even to ones you don't like), the settings are likeable and informative and the stories develop at a perfect pace. In this book there are 3 women who inherit a lot of money in one form or another from Donald (spoiler alert - he's not a nice man). They are 3 very different women with different experiences of Donald which is a contributing factor to them being 3 different women and responses to their inheritances.
