This wonderful and beautifully written romance novel is not only captivating from start to end, but it tugs on your heartstrings too. Construction worker Rafe Scott is a single dad of an adorable daughter, Hailey, and is attentive and very protective of her. When she begins school, he will be certain about who he is trusting his daughter with, including her bus driver and teacher. He was expecting a Miss Burke to be her teacher but got a Mister Burke instead, a very hot-looking mister. Hailey connected with her teacher right away, so all was good. Despite a few minutes of awkwardness, Rafe could not keep his eyes off of Mr. Nolan Burke, and the feeling was mutual, but they must maintain a professional relationship. Rafe being new in town has no one to turn to when he needs a sitter so he asks Nolan and that was the start of their friendship and the more they got to know each other the harder it got to resist giving into the chemistry they share, smoking hot chemistry. Rafe, who has a troubled romantic history, made a vow to never allow himself to fall in love again. However, must he pay the price of true happiness for his past mistakes? Nolan’s last relationship was not good, and he always wound up with guys who need fixing, so he vowed to not do that again, but he could not help but fall in love with Rafe and even Hailey. It broke Nolan’s heart that Rafe could not love him back. This wonderfully plotted romance novel has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions, is low on angst and high on heat. Nicole Dykes, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Scott Rose and Christian Leatherman did an amazing job bringing these characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was fitting and believable, including Hailey, the scene stealer. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

This is one of those books that stays with you. There is so much emotion and depth in this novel that it is pretty much impossible to pause. I love how real Nicole makes her characters you feel such an attachment to them and their journey.

This was a wonderful read that will ensure that you get so very many emotions from.

When Nolan meets one of his pupils dads they hit it off straight away but he never expected Rafe to ask him for his help . As they start to see more of each other their feelings start to change but Rafe is adamant he’s not relationship material and it’s just friends with benefits . Nolan wants a relationship he wants everything but he knows how jaded Rafe is so he plays along until he can’t hide it any longer . Another fab book from Nicole the characters were fabulous especially Hayley and I’m so happy they all got their HEA .

Ready for a construction worker and a teacher? I know I was and this book was the perfect weekend listen! Meet Rafe. He is sending his daughter, Hailey to kindergarten and goes into meet her teacher. Little did he know it would be a man. Nolan loves his job. The kids are a joy but when he meets Rafe, there is a spark of a different kind. Nolan helps this single dad out watching Hailey when Rafe has to work. And as time goes by, that spark ignites despite the relationship of teacher parent. But as time goes on, feelings grow and Nolan is ready to settle down only to find out Rafe has no intention of ever settling down. Where do they go from here? Will they be able to work it out or will Nolan move on? And what about Hailey? There is no way not to love both of these men. Both are sweet and loving, they just need a good nudge! And honestly, Hailey steals the show with her wonderful personality. Nicole Dykes has a winner on her hands with this taboo MM romance. It's the perfect Saturday listen!

Christian Leatherman and Scott Rose bring it all to life with a fabulous narration. This talented duo added just the right amount of angst, and spice to keep it moving and my emotions flowing! I love listens that keep me engaged and these two know how to do it! Loved this performance.
