About this listen

For Henry, a 17-year-old who feels no fear, the day starts like any other - homeless and alone on the streets of Boston. For Sarah, a 20-year-old college dropout, it’s an early morning serving donuts and coffee to commuters at North Station. Fate brings them together at the scene of a bank robbery, which they foil together, along with a mysterious and wealthy woman named Helen, who offers to reward them for their bravery.

But before they can reach Helen’s penthouse, they are assaulted by men and women from all walks of life, including police officers. Helen displays impressive fighting skills, fending off the attacks, allowing Henry and Sarah to make their escape - but they are spotted and pursued by the violent cult, out for Helen’s blood...and now theirs.

Racing through the streets of Boston, Sarah and Henry are propelled into a strange and ancient underworld where the impossible is real, where the old world still lives, and where the gods still walk among us. As the pair wages war against the killers hunting them, they discover the truth about who their deceased parents were, and that their lives could be far more exceptional than either believed possible...if they can survive the day.

With Tribe, number-one Audible and New York Times best-selling author Jeremy Robinson brings mythology to the modern world, combining his trademarked fast-paced action and well developed characters and taking them to new levels of craziness. It’s 300, John Wick, and Wonder Woman rolled into a new kind of literary insanity.

R C Bray works his magic to bring this story to life. It wouldn’t be a story I would normally listen to, the subject/storyline isn’t what I normally listen to. However as it was written by Jeremy Robinson and voice acted by R. C. Bray, I kinda guessed I would enjoy it. I did!

I had a pleasant surprise near the end, don’t want to spoil it too much. A guest appearance. Some people might not know him but R. C. Bray does his voice in another book, by another author. That’s all I will say.

I love how the two main characters are written, how they interact with each other.

There is a tiny bit of repetitive at the start, with Henry and his condition, I think it’s needed to get the point across, as it isn’t normal.

I am curious, what did the old lady say when she was helped up by Sarah? I know we aren’t supposed to know, but it was a shock to hear a different language.

Surprised!

Fast paced and action packed from start to finish. A truly great story with plenty of twists and turns which all culminates into a spectacular finish. R.C Bray is fantastic as always, I could genuinely listen to this guy read the phone book. it has everything a good book needs, great story, action packed, brilliant humour and all while being narrated to perfection.

Incredible as always.

I cannot in all good conscience, NOT start the review without special mention to chapter 52! I nearly dropped my banana!

This book has a quick-paced, deep-dive into the lives and woes of some very relatable characters that you genuinely care about within the first few chapters. Sarah is all of us, and Henry is the all of us we either try to hide, or wish, at times, we could be.

Love, love, love.

Sublime
