About this listen

When seventeen-year-old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town itself.

In spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella.

Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away - until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car.

Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires - and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.©2005 Stephenie Meyer

I loved reading the book when it was released. Then watched the films ( at least twice). So I thought I would go back down memory lane with a audible version. For an English person I did struggle slightly with the very heavily accented American. In addition there was not much variation to the voices, enough to understand ( sometimes guess) who was talking and knowing the story so well really helped. Her voice had a calm and gentle cadence which I liked so will continue with the rest of the series. A lovely, easy to listen to read.

Overall it was enjoyable

I loved reading the book and watching the film for all the Twilight films, and I loved listening to Breaking Dawn. Although Twilight has the same reader, somehow, the read version didn't grip me as much.

Disappointed with the reading

This was my first book I decided to pick at first not being used to the readers voice I found her alittle annoying but quickly got used to it and found she read the book wonderfully now when I'm traveling on the train or going about my daily business I enjoy greatly listening to the already loved story being re told to me again :) would defiantly recommend!!
