Not a bad book, but too short. I'm struggling to justify the purchase of the second installment for such little content.

Reminds me of some of the animes I used to watch like Dragon Ball, Yuyu Hakusho and the like. Nonetheless the story is interesting and captivating. I particularly liked the pacing of the events even if sometimes they are predictable.

This is not exactly high art, but it's extremely fun. I love a plucky underdog, a fanciful magic system, a martial arts narrative, artifacts of unimaginable power… Fans of Stormlight Archives and Dragon Ball should not miss this one.

Not a fan of the narration, if I'm honest, but it is serviceable.

I think this is the first audiobook I've had to reduce the listening speed on. The narration isn't bad, but it's not amazing and it's definitely too fast. I listened on 90% speed and still nearly didn't catch some lines because of how quickly they were delivered.

This story is the weakest in the series but the series does improve. It's probably the best example of progression fantasy currently available and there is some definitely charm to the story even with some rough edges. It's definitely worth giving a shot, and I'd suggest also trying the second book before giving up on the series

Both the story and voice acting set my standards so high I struggle finding any others series that interest me enough
