Eva is desperate: No job in sight and a mountain of student debt. To make matters worse, her parents have to close down their beloved antique shop because some rich business family bought the property and wants to tear down the building.

Eva wants to forget her problems for at least a few hours and goes on a wild night out with her friend in New York City.

The next morning, she's shocked to wake up in a strange bed. Lying next to her is none other than Addam Valentine, New York's most infamous playboy and son of the very rich business family that kicked her parents out. Embarrassed, she makes a quick exit, hoping to forget the incident as soon as possible.

But it gets worse: The tabloids are full of rather explicit photos from last night. Shortly after, Addam shows up at her door and asks her to pretend to be his wife for a year and move in with him. For the incredible sum of 2 million dollars.

Because she could also help her parents with that money, Eva agrees. Besides, what could possibly go wrong?

Apparently, a lot: Her emotions are on a rollercoaster ride, her husband's family wants to get rid of her sooner rather than later, and even her parents turn their backs on her. Then, by chance, she discovers the shady business deals Addam is involved in.

Just as she's about to ask him to dissolve the agreement, she realizes her period is late. What on earth is she supposed to do now?
