Alvin had a rough week. Thrown into a digital death game, Apocalypse Gates, with only his wits and a less than helpful AI handler, Alvin's prospects for survival looked bleak. Daniel once again shows he has a brilliant talent at creating and manipulating world's. Valley of Death is fabulously narrated and manages to breathe life into several characters.

I really enjoyed the story until the complete change of the world and it's rules. maybe it shows it's worth in the next book but to me, it took away a major driving force in the story and kinda F'ed over the characters.

it's turned into the EA of post-apoc worlds ... you must PAY to do anything.

Much hotter than the first title, but I don't mind. Seeing their relationship develop is great. All too often other stories cut off once the couple gets together, but that's not the case here. Still way too much game mechanics for my taste though.
