Summary

 The Yorkshire dales have never seemed more beautiful for James - now he has a lovely wife by his side, a partner's plate on the gate and the usual menagerie of farm animals, pets, and owners demanding his constant attention and teaching him a few lessons along the way.

Despite being written in 1974 it feels modern and relevant and with the bonus of being read by the brilliant Christopher Timothy - this is a must listen for a rainy Sunday afternoon!

The reader is good and very clear with excellent light and shade in his voice. The book is amusing and very descriptive as are all the Herriot books. A good listen.
