About this listen

A lonely gay teen bides his time with trips to strangers' funerals and Ouija board sessions, desperately searching for someone to love - and a reason to live following a suicide attempt.

Walking an empty stretch of New Jersey highway on an autumn night, he meets a strange and beautiful boy who looks like he stepped out of a dream. But the vision becomes into a nightmare when the boy turns out to be the local urban legend, the ghost of a star athlete killed in 1957 - a ghost with a deadly secret and a dangerous obsession.

Vintage: A Ghost Story is an intense thriller that looks at the dark side of gay urban fantasy, where the dead can never rest and trapped spirits never find peace.

Any additional comments?

The story line was a little uninspiring, although the characters were quite fun and one or two moments had a genuinely spooky feel to them. Rather less inspiring was the reading. Every female had the same rather cackle like voice and the males never quite managed to make the smooth huskiness sound believable. Still I enjoyed it well enough and wouldn't want to put anybody off the reading of it.

Worth a read but

Originally, I was looking for something new to listen to and having heard another narration by Mr Frazier, I decided to give this a go. It was a fantastic idea, the internal monologue was amazing as his voice was soft and gentle as a whisper. All the diverse voices were very good, specially the little girl ghost. Definitely scary and thus perfect for the mood of the book. The steamy parts were few but perfect through Frazier's sexy voice.

Definitely a new favorite
