The book starts as a light-hearted and somewhat funny commentary on French society and culture but slowly turns into a bitter and angry rant. Very disappointing.

The premise of WTF?! is excellent, however, the execution of the book soon moves away from a light hearted and informative celebration of France and the French and becomes a disappointing diatribe towards the country and it's inhabitants. The author's jaundiced views are prompted by his clearly distorted, inaccurate and highly politicised (American right wing Christian) opinions. The France and the French that Magny describes are not the France nor the French that I know and love.
