About this listen

I'M LOST. I'M SCARED. AND THERE'S SOMETHING HORRIBLE IN HERE.

My name is Gary Rendell. I'm an astronaut. When they asked me as a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "astronaut, please!" I dreamed astronaut, I worked astronaut, I studied astronaut. I got lucky; when a probe exploring the Oort Cloud found a strange alien rock and an international team of scientists was put together to go and look at it, I made the draw.

I got even luckier. When disaster hit and our team was split up, scattered through the endless cold tunnels, I somehow survived.

Now I'm lost, and alone, and scared, and there's something horrible in here.

Lucky me.

Lucky, lucky, lucky.

I guess some people might not like it but I actually laughed out loud in places. Good to hear the author's own voice, and he is a good narrator.

Funny

It’s a short story/ novella. Interesting enough.
I quite liked Tchaikovsky’s narration, pretty good considering he isn’t a pro.

Short but good

I wouldn’t say this is my favorite book by this author by any means, but it was good. Short but sweet.

A listen you’ll want to hear again and again. Great narration as well. Amazing work.

I've been a fan for some years though not every novel has quite pressed the right buttons for me. I didn't spend a credit on this as it was short so when I noticed ot was included in my membership I jumped on it.

It's great fun and plays some some lovely concepts. A real joy and nicely read by the author himself. I get hints of John Finnemore. Would have been well worth that credit.
