About this listen

I'm an elf. A Winter Cheer Elf, to be precise.

A Winter Cheer Elf's job is clear: From the fall solstice until spring, we are to spread as much cheer as possible. There are plenty of opportunities to do so, from small things such as providing free hot cocoa with marshmallows where people are enjoying sledding and ice skating to big ones, such as ensuring winter holidays go off without a hitch.

I take my job seriously, but when my cousin Kristianos railed about a letter addressed to Santa being more suited to those doing Cupid duty later, I needed to know more. By the New Year, I had my answer. Come Valentine's Day, I knew I was lost. Will spring blossom into our happily-ever-after?

If I have any say in the matter, you better believe it!

This was definitely a different kind Christmas wish-type story. It was super adorable and fun in the beginning. The middle seemed to veer off from the Christmas theme a little hence the twist but still good. In the end, it was a romance story with an HEA. It was almost like 3 stories in one.
I loved the little elves along with their magic.
Rebecca Ehrenpreis did a fantastic job narrating all the different character voices.

This is a feel good story perfect for Christmas or any day where all you want to do is snuggle under a blanket and have a hot chocolate.
The plot is simple enough yet well executed and even have some plot twists to keep you listening to it. I really liked how both the author and the narrator were able to adapt the different voices (and vocabulary) to the different characters. Also, speaking of surprising twist, given the main tone of the book, I was expecting at much a fade to black steamy scene but to my nice surprise, elves can be very descriptive.

A nice cosy book to listen to
