The Hero does belive his family before his fiancee, some might thing that unforgivable. He wouldn't have searched for her, if he didn't love her, but trust is part of any workable relationship.
The heroine is torn between her love, her child, his lack of trust and the hostile treatment she gets from his friends and family.
The sex is not intrusive.
