Victoria Aveyard
Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal's betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart-and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her-Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all . . . starting with the crown on Maven's head.
But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal's powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolish everything - and everyone - in his path.
War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?
In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard's stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power . . . for all will be tested, but not all will survive.
The #1 New York Times bestselling Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard comes to a stunning conclusion in this fourth and final book.

Critic reviews
I finished this book over the weekend, and all I can say is that I wish I read it slower, because the wait for the next book is going to be painful.
It's high adrenaline stuff...the double-crossing and duplicity is the real loop-the-loop, awesome roller-coaster star attraction.
All the characters are great, and the relationships that Victoria Aveyard builds and breaks between them will have you feeling all the emotions, there is a great mix of action and contemplation that works so terrifically well.
Aveyard weaves a compelling new world, and Mare and the two men in her life evolve intriguingly as class tension rises. Revolution supersedes romance, setting the stage for action-packed surprises. An inventive, character-driven twist breathes new life into tired fantasy trends.
'Red Queen is a clever blend of The Hunger Games, The Selection, Graceling and Divergent.'
"A whirlwind of betrayal and plot twists."
"It's slick, it's interesting and ... gripping."
All hail Victoria Aveyard - the new Queen of dystopian fiction.
Performance: Unfortunately the Performance let me down, as always Amanda Dolan and Erin Spencer, portrayed the characters perfectly, but Saskia Maarleveld made Iris feel older than she really is (Iris is nineteen), for the men (dont remember voice actor names), the actor for Cal, was good, but the random voice for the female characters didn't sound very good (I lowk got jumpscared everytime i heard it), but Mavens voice actor was pretty good, dont have any complaints :D

So all in all, a decent story, but with a very staged and forced feel to it. Especially the end. It’s a real shame that authors often seem to feel like a satisfying ending would be too ‘mainstream’ and therefore try too hard to leave things hanging, and it certainly seems the case here. Again, the ‘trying-too-hard-to-be-an-independant-feminist-heroine’ aspect comes into play and what is obviously intended to be an empowering and independent ending for the main character just feels like the author trying to prove something that doesn’t feel very natural after so much ambiguity and emotional turmoil throughout the series. After reading a series like this, it just leaves you with a pretty ‘what-the-hell-was-that’ sort of reaction.
As for the performance, I really liked Mare, Evangeline and Mavin, but Cal’s was truly awful and his version of Mare was cringeworthy… much prefer a performance from a single actor really as there’s no jarring changes, but it’s not like some where I’ve had to give up and go read the book myself instead, so don’t think this is a deal breaker.
If you liked the first books, definitely give this a go, but be prepared for a bit of a slog!
Ok read, but a bit forced.
