My daughter is the jewel of my world, but I am conflicted over the thought that she could grow up to become a dangerous killer like Anastasia Bathory. Added to this, I have discovered that the man I love, Knight, isn't as dead as I was told. The conflicting emotions I feel over him must be put to one side, however, as I enter negotiations with the Lycans to forge an alliance against the turned vampires who threaten us.

Desperate to thwart the looming war, I need answers for my daughter, and to get them, I must turn to James, the vampire who had previously bitten and tortured me. He reveals that the only way to find Anastasia Bathory is to first find a vampire named Lucas and to do that I’ll require the help of the only werewolf in existence: Knight.

My conflicted feelings over Knight threaten to override me, and I am convinced he will never forgive me for what I’ve done. Still, he agrees to assist my search, and we track down the eccentric Lucas, eventually finding our way to the ruins of Anastasia Bathory’s castle.

But there are greater shocks in store for me when I come face to face with the woman that brought vampires to their knees, and I don’t find what I expected.
