About this listen

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilisation faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another.

As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction, and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.

Christie Golden has brought to life the story of the Warcraft Cinematic Universe in such a way that this read is better than the movie was. The descriptions used by Golden make it impossible to not escape to Azeroth.

Only complaint is that the narrator doesn't pronounce a lot of the names correctly, but this is something easily overlooked.

An amazing fantasy story

If you could sum up Warcraft: The Official Movie Novelization in three words, what would they be?

Iv watched the movie twice and read the Durotan novel and this book was still a good read to me. It gave some real insight that the movie could not and some scenes were in here that were cut from the movie.

gives that extra bit of depth to the movie

Positively loved this reading, enjoyed from start to finish with minor faults. I wasn't sure whether I've been pronouncing certain names wrong this entire time or not but I felt like I was entirely tugged out of the universe and immersion everytime I heard Scott mispronounce a name I knew from lore, while this is only a minor gripe it did have some effect on my listening experience. Other than that, his portrayal of characters was sincere and well placed and I felt right amongst the action throughout the story. The book stayed true to the film it was adapted from while still adding details you wouldn't have had watching it's silver screen counterpart. if you're a Warcraft fan this doesn't quite stick to the lore established in the games but that's not an issue that can be laid at the feet of this book's.

Well spoken and clear, but butchered names.

Title. Not sure what I was expecting. Helped me power wash the garden, can't complain.

Literally the movie script.
