I stopped a demon-possessed warship and saved a kingdom. Surely a quiet semester at magic school isn't too much to ask?

Apparently it is. A demon queen from my war days has started haunting my dreams, and she's got plans for the portal to hell sitting right under Stoneway Academy. The paladins say everything's fine. The headmistress says the ancient tree keeping the demons sealed is perfectly healthy. Meanwhile, I'm waking up smelling like brimstone and watching corruption spread through the school's roots.

To make matters worse, an Auropan exchange student needs protecting from vengeful classmates, a vampire professor has decided I'm her soulmate, and some anonymous journalist keeps publishing my private business in the school paper. Oh, and apparently my ladies have been plotting something behind my back—though for a change, that might actually be good news.

But when the demons finally make their move, all the politics and romance take a backseat to survival. Holding the line means embracing the monster I tried to bury when the war ended. My girls are ready to fight beside me, but this time I'm the one standing between them and an army from hell.

Some demons you fight on the battlefield. Others, you fight inside yourself.

absolutely brilliant entry - the harem expands, another foe is battled and we get some insights into the conspiracies and rivalries of the nation. I only had one MINOR disappointment - all throughout we hear how Alistair has no reflection, but at a key point he is shown one. I was expecting some cunning way for him to see through a ruse or something but it felt like the need for a dramatic moment overruled continuity.

aside from that, the combat, romance and character voices were exemplary! well done!

another great entry
