A bit of a boring story not that good. The main thing that ruined it for me was the
Awful attempt at a British accent , please if you are going to attempt a British accent or even write a British accent, do your research first. not the best book, I have listen to

I’ve read Lindsay Buroker books before a long time ago and I was hoping to enjoy this as the preview seemed intriguing. Sadly, I didn’t. The main character is managing some apartment buildings & has taught herself DIY to the point that she is competent at most jobs & repairs. I liked the premise of a self sufficient & confident mature woman. Then it all went to hell in a hand basket when a man (lone wolf) turns up. The self-assured and independent woman turns into a damsel in distress needing to be rescued, fought over and questioning her place in the world. Blah blah blah… my interest evaporated. The narrators truly awful attempts at a British/Celtic male accent made me hit the skip button like it was a pinball machine. There are a ton of books after this so her loyal fans are obviously enjoying this but I won’t be continuing with this series.

Started out well then quickly disappointed. Not the book I was hoping for.
