About this listen

Get real, biblical answers to all your questions about life after death.

In both Christian and pop culture, there is a fascination with the afterlife but also so much confusion, with people asking questions like:

What happens after you die?
What happens if you die with Christ or without Christ?
What happens when Jesus returns if you have or haven’t accepted Christ?
What exactly comes next?

In What Happens After You Die Randy Frazee, the popular pastor of Oak Hills and general editor of the wildly successful Believe and The Story programs, answers your perennial questions about the afterlife with an accessible exploration of what the Bible really has to say on the subject. Born out of a deeply personal search for truth after the death of his mother, What Happens After You Die is a straightforward exploration of what the Bible says about life after death. From heaven and hell to the Lake of Fire and the actual presence of God, Frazee uncovers what is simply cultural tradition and what is truly biblical. He shows readers not only the death Jesus came to save us from but the life he came to save us for.

Based on a teaching series that has had more online views than any other series Frazee has done to date, What Happens After You Die is a guide to the perennial questions about life and death, what comes next, and how we should live until then. This book is the trustworthy and hopeful guide you have been looking for to help you navigate through the difficult questions about life after death.

I recently went through a phase of death terrifying me. The thought of “what if we don't exist after death” upset and disturbed me deeply for years, but recently it has amplified after turning 32. I finally decided to go on a journey of researching the afterlife and Jesus’ teachings on it. I discovered this book online not knowing anything about the author or about the book, so take this as a blind review of the author. There were moments in this book when I felt like God was talking through Rev. Frazee directly to me, and that I was not alone in all of these worries and fears.

Rev. Frazee was very honest and vulnerable in this book about his own insecurities and worries throughout his life about the afterlife, giving personal stories about his mother and grief. No matter the worry or fear, Rev. Frazee always quoted biblical scripture and presented biblical answers to these big questions, not just personal answers with no biblical source. The content was detailed but did not waffle, and the subjects always made me feel reassured and comforted. As soon as I thought, “yeah but…”, an answer would be given that would comfort me. Everything is well explained, even with Q&A sections at the end of several chapters to give specific answers to specific questions.

I would strongly recommend this audiobook if you’re having doubts, worries, or are curious about what the afterlife has in store for you. Mark Smeby did a great job with the narration, and overall I would listen to it again and reccomend it.

Felt like it was written just for me

Such an encouraging and refreshing take on life after death. The narrator is brilliant and brings the book to life. Clearly, a lot of this is one man's views and interpretation of Scripture, but it was very encouraging. I look forward to reading more books by Randy!
