The story continues where the first book leaves off, with Damien Vryce, Hesseth and Gerald Tarrant travelling to the East Continent in search of the dangerous sorcerer that the events of the first book revealed operates from there.

The other continent turns out to be quite different in many ways, but the expedition makes its way towards the sorcerer despite everything.

The story is suspenseful, the characters interesting, and the world is fascinating. And following the development of that most uneasy of collaborations, the one between Damien and Tarrant, is a delight!
