Her husband vanishes. The truth lies buried in wartime London.

The day after their wedding in Dominica, LeJeune sails to England to build a home for them. When Essie receives only a single letter from him, she must leave her Caribbean home and travel across the ocean to post-WWII London, determined to uncover what really happened.

In Stepney, the people who knew him—his army friend and the woman who first captured his heart—hold pieces of the truth. As Essie digs deeper, secrets from his wartime past begin to unravel, threatening everything she believed about love, loyalty, and herself.

Wherever You Will Go is an emotional, dual-timeline story of courage, hidden histories, and a young woman forging her own path in a divided city. Perfect for fans of World War II fiction, historical romance, and unforgettable heroines.

Begin Essie’s unforgettable journey today.

I had already read the book and was really keen to experience the audiobook, especially knowing that the author had narrated it herself. That alone is an impressive achievement, but what truly stood out was how talented she is as a narrator. Her voice is wonderfully mellifluous, with a musical quality that makes it a pleasure to listen to. She brings every character to life, handling different voices and accents with ease, and I was constantly impressed by how naturally she embodied each role.

The story itself is a beautiful piece of historical fiction that follows Essie through some of the most important moments of her life. Without giving too much away, there is a compelling mystery at its heart when the husband she has just married seemingly vanishes after travelling to London. As the story unfolds, we follow Essie’s search for answers while also learning more about herself and the people around her, alongside LeJeune’s side of the story. The multiple timelines and perspectives are handled brilliantly, adding depth and emotion to the narrative.

This is a beautifully written novel filled with characters who feel real and fully developed. The supporting cast are just as engaging as the main characters, and I found myself invested in all of their journeys. There were several moments that genuinely moved me to tears. As an audiobook, the experience is elevated even further by the narration, which adds warmth, emotion, and authenticity to an already wonderful story. It is a fantastic start to the series and leaves me excited to see where the journey goes next.

A beautiful performance of a beautiful story
