Summary

Top neurosurgeon Samantha Thomson needs to get married fast and is tightlipped as to why. And with over $200,000 on offer to tie the knot, no questions asked, cash-strapped ER nurse Hayden Perez isn't about to demand answers.

The deal is only for a year of marriage, but Hayden's going into it knowing it will be a nightmare. Sam is complicated, rude, kind of cold, and someone Hayden barely tolerates at work, let alone wants to marry. The hardest part is that Hayden has to convince everyone around them that they're madly in love and that racing down the aisle together is all they've ever wanted.

I like the way was narrated.
The story itself is okay. Good enough when you don’t want to think and relax.
We enjoyed it while driving.

Good narrator

Enjoyed the story and characters. Can't really judge the narration. Thought the reader had a ridiculously slow stroke victim level drawl, but I got used to it. I only realised at the end of the book I had listened at 0.7 speed.

Fake dating trope written well

Enjoyed the story line rally hope the author provides us another story involving these two main characters!

Wasn’t sure at first but ended up binge listening

as a cishet man, I've only recently discovered LGBTQ+ novels...I'm also a romantic at heart.
I love stories that build from a cold start to a beautiful relationship particularly when the parties involved are often opposite personality types.
the characters in this novel are from different backgrounds and on the surface appear on top of their day to day lives - as the story builds you find that they're dealing with big family centred issues.
they say all's well that ends well and you know what the outcome ought to be, but you have to wait to find out...😁

a celebration of people loving people
