DETECTIVE JANE TENNISON'S POLICE CAREER HANGS IN THE BALANCE: A SINGLE STEP FROM GLORY - OR RUIN.

While she has elbowed her way into an elite team investigating non-domestic murders, there is nothing elite about her first assignments: a missing teenager cold case and an apparent suicide Tennison suspects is, in fact, murder.

But as she uncovers explosive evidence, Tennison's new colleagues watch like vultures circling prey. And, one by one, the cases no one else wanted are taken from her - and the glory along with them.

Now Tennison has had enough: of the rampant sexism, snide remarks and undermining. It's time to take what is rightfully hers from those who have held her back.

She just has to do what she does best: find her prime suspect . . .

Well done LLP, she never disappoints, a skilfully crafted piece in both characterisation & forensic detail …

Llp on point…

This is the first Lynda La Plante book I’ve read, and I loved it. Was a huge fan of the Prime Suspect series back in the day, and saw this on an Audible daily deal. Fabulous narration and story. Think I’ll be listening to all the Jane Tennison books now …

Fantastic

I am a long life fan of Lynda. I have all the Tennison audiobooks. And nearly all of the Anna Travis ones too.

The only drawback with this final one for me was her loss of temper with her assistant. No need to be sooo short tempered and nasty. But I guess tjis is how Lynda sees being strong in Tennisons battle for equality. It hasn’t put me off buying more though.

What strength. But at a cost.

Jane’s character is very strong - has worked hard to attain her promotions but still does not get the recognition and respect from her male counterparts

Jane’s tenacity
