Wicked Forest, the first book in the hidden word is an enchanting fantasy, with interesting characters. Despite the length, the content of the plot is ample, and the premise is well-developed. The main character, Crystal, is a young witch who is thrown into a magical world, and she has to find a way to survive. Wicked Forest can be enjoyed by all ages but an ideal choice of YA listeners.

Winona Owen does a great job with the narration and portrayal of the characters' personalities. I'm definitely going to listen to the second book in the series. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

E.J Bennett (a new author for me) wrote a wonderful story with great imagination. The tale is Enchanting and gripping with twists and turns that kept me intrigued. Cliffhanger ending alert!
Winona Owen (a new narrator for me) took a couple of chapters for me to gel with, a 4 star is given as I felt her voices between characters could have been a little clearer, but overall her narration was great

This was a great start to the series, I liked Crystal, the main character, she is a witch and just wanted to be in control of her own life, but her mother had other ideas. She is a very strong willed character. We also have a prophecy, and shifters both wolf and dragon! It has everything you would want in a YA fantasy.
Some of the story seemed a bit rushed but other parts flowed so well. The world building was fantastic and the narrator was exceptional. Bring on the second in the series!

In this coming of age story we find lies of the past generations of witches, secrets held by Crystal’s parents, an arranged marriage, betrayal by the betrothed, a hidden world, and Crystal who only wants normality, in the Hidden World Series book one.
Winona Owen did a great job with this intriguing storyline.
