Zara Riddle signs up for a patch of land in the Wisteria Community Gardens.

She's hoping for a bumper crop of pumpkins, but grows a dancing skeleton instead. That's not going to work in a pie.

Soon she finds out that the only place more magical than Wisteria is the subterranean city below, the network of tunnels known as The Wilds.

Full of laughter and intrigue. A journey through all emotions. Wonderful reading and I strongly recommend.

my least fave so far i am sad to say. I felt really disappointed.
the narrator however has grown on me considerably and I think she is amazing. Even the third person saying "Zara tries to be a good witch..." chant was less annoying.
I felt frustrated at the once, heavily built characters, friendships and community, sadly, felt empty, a shadow of themselves. the story lacked excitement, it lacked the feelgood factor and meatiness of the past books. I am hoping prior to ongoing purchases that future sequels quench that thirst. I want her old house back, I do desperately! I missed the way the house shaped and helped Zara. I missed the romance, and Bently her fiance...I am literally pleading with the author to ignite Zaras powers to resurrect him. I am desperate for Zara to have the dream, For me, she felt in this book hollow, lost and unsupported. I am hoping this is a stepping stone towards the authors masterplan. certain juicy characters have dissappear leaving frustrating voids and questions....her Mother, Xavier, Bentley, the Gorgon's, the budgy marzipants, her cat and even the devil character you can't help but feel will all (I hope) enrich or reappear perhaps??? further ahead?? I hope!!!
I still absolutely love and crave the narrators portrayal of the Wyverns...(albeit even here it was touching macabre and lost the usual cheeky humour, like their relationships had broken down). One of my favourite characters by far, with his eccentric count dracula...I'm going to conquer the world, villain voice (he is in fact my cat and my children laugh at how similar the authors rendition of his voice is exactly the same as we do our, 'you are all beneath me' maine coon aka supervillain cat).
So I'm presuming this is all part of the authors masterplan, to take us all down a notch or two or three, to then bring the fruits of the storyline back again! please bring back the house...and Bentley.

my least fave, let's hope a stepping stone book to better
