About this listen

Human. Weak. Sick. That’s what I’ve been told I am all my life. But when magic hunters attack the castle where I’ve been kept hidden since birth, I discover my whole world is built on lies. Because the hunters are after me.

Running for my life, I’m rescued by four dangerously handsome gargoyle shifters. They say they’re here to save me...but maybe they only want to save themselves. Because, as it turns out, I’m not merely human. I am a Protector of Magic - if I die, magic will vanish from the world. And my four winged guardians will turn to stone forever.

I really enjoyed the premise of Wings of Stone and once the story got going, it became a very engaging read. It did take a little while to get there, though. The beginning felt slower than I expected, but once the action started the pacing improved and I found it much easier to immerse myself in the story and the unfolding events.
I do think the world-building could use more development to help readers better understand the setting and the rules of the world. That said, the concept itself is strong and interesting.
I liked the FMC overall. I think there could have been a bit more exploration of the horror surrounding her beginnings, but aside from that she was a solid character. I also really enjoyed the gargoyles. As for the potential romance, I’m hoping she eventually falls for the MMC, who I liked, but book one only gave us hints rather than real development. I’m hoping future books give the characters, especially the love interest, more depth.
The plot definitely improved as the story progressed, even if there weren’t many big twists and turns yet. It feels like things are still being set up, so I’m interested to see where it goes next.
Overall, I’d give this around a 3.75, but since I can’t rate that, it’s a 4 rather than a 3. I’m curious enough to pick up book two and see how the story develops.

Witches, Gargoyles and a goddest fantasy story

Not as spicy as I'd have liked, and what we had was all 1-1, so I guess the group activities will come on the next one 🤞 in thisnone we get a virgin fmc, who is quite clueless due to her upbringing. A bunch of gargoyles will eventually be her men.
There were some battles and a lot of witch drama.
Overall, it's a good fantasy, and I would recommend the audiobook too as it is part of audible subscription, and the narration is really good too.
