Couldn't understand why Sam would speak with an American accent having been born and grown up in England and spent only a few years in the states?

The story was pleasant and quaint, with likeable characters. It wasn’t literary genius, but it was a good, easy and accessible yarn. The narration was annoying though - far too trill and ‘jolly hockey sticks’ for my liking and this did detract from an otherwise enjoyable book.

I really enjoyed this story. It was well paced, very descriptive with interesting and likeable characters. I am going to order another Rosamunde Pilcher straight away as I am sad that I have finished listening to this one. I also really like Jill Bond’s interpretation and narration. Well Done !
