Quite hard to listen to because the dialogue sounds like it was written by an AI. So much of the exposition is explaining the utterly obvious and simplistic, spoon-feeding us as if we have zero brain cells. Garcia continues to be the dumbest detective ever written, he's painful.

Having read and enjoyed all the previous ones, this was just a bit predictable and annoying. Couldn’t wait to finish it, for all the wrong reasons

Poor storyline

I really like all the Robert Hunter books, hence 5* review. The only thing which is irritating in my opinion is the apparent “stupidity” of Hunter’s boss cp.Blake. I get that the author is just trying -by using the character- explain to readers the plot or provide detail & explanation, but come on, she must have at least a bit of intelligence to be a captain, so constantly asking silly questions & demanding answers and not being able to join the dots herself, doesn’t fit with her job description. It’s poorly build character, which is a shame.

Great book as always

Always have been a huge fan of Chris Carter - I eagerly await the next in the Robert Hunter series.
I was not disappointed with this instalment, I couldn’t wait to continue listening. Very good plotting but always an element of gore and violence - great mix and a nice good easy to follow read/listen.

This was my first audible book and the narrator is also great.
