The first time I experienced the story, Written in the Scars, was back in 2016 when it was first released. When the opportunity arose to listen to the audiobook via Valentine PR, I jumped on it because I love Adriana’s style and voice so I will always jump on anything she writes. I can’t say that I remembered every detail of the story before I listened to this audiobook, but I still remembered how I felt when I read it. That feeling came back tenfold as I listened, and it was glorious!

This listening experience could not have been any more glorious!! 👏👏very loud ruckus round of applause👏👏 for both Emma Wilder & Lance Greenfield! They did not miss a single beat with this performance. I didn’t think it was possible to feel more for this story than I already did but they made it possible! OUTSTANDING!

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 5+ STARS

I have to tell you guys something … reading this book shattered me. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and hopeful and so fucking powerful. There’s an emotional charge to the story and that’s all in Adriana Locke’s style. The way this story unfolded put goosebumps on my skin because I more than wanted this HEA, I needed it.

In the process of reading Ty and Elin’s journey there were times I felt like I was walking on broken glass because their struggle was real. It was every day. It could happen to any one of us. From page one I was swept away into this world that felt nothing like fiction. I think that’s the best part of this book. Ty and Elin were real. Their life and circumstance were real. They dug themselves from the bottom and came up determined to win. Even though there is a lot of struggle throughout the book, you know from the beginning that winning is what is their destiny.

I am in awe of what I just read, and I cannot recommend this book enough to everyone looking for a story that will break you at the same time as it thrills you and fills you with joy. It was magnificent!

This book affected me greatly in many ways due to my own personal experiences and it left me both sad, heartbroken and angry at the author for putting me in this position. To be fair it’s not the worst thing to be reminded about the impact we have on people and the way we can do better. I loved the book and the narration and I just needed a little break near the end to process and then go forward to a happy ending. If you like your books to be an inspiration and deeply emotional, then this is for you.

This story made me feel every up and down the characters went through and both Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield brought the characters to life. They conveyed every emotion they went through and I heard the emotion in their voices and felt it all along with them.

Adriana Locke wrote a beautifully emotional story that I loved and when put in audio form it packed an even bigger emotional punch.

I can't recommend this story enough, whether you read the book or listen to the audio don't miss out on this story.

Where do I begin? This book took me by surprise. I was not expecting my heart to hurt so much and this book to be so emotional. I was in tears for almost half the book! It has been a while since a book has really hung me out to dry like this one has. Adriana, I’m not sure what you are trying to do to me!!

I’ve finally collected myself, now I will try and leave a review that will do this book justice!

This book is about Ty and Elin were high school sweethearts and married 7 years after high school. You’d think they would have a perfect marriage with the white picket fence and a car full of children, but they don’t.. for from it actually! Things have gotten to the point where Ty has worked out and Elin feels like her husband’s a stranger to her now. They are miserable.

After some time and talking, Ty finally comes home and is willing to put work into the marriage and do whatever it takes to make it work. He loves his wife more than anything. But is it too late? He was nowhere to be seen when Elin needed him the most and it’s not as simple as forgiving him. He may have to accept the fact he’s lost the love of his life forever.



Oh my god, this book played with my heartstrings. My heart ached so much for these two. I just wanted to climb into the book and hug them both! I haven’t read many romances where the couple are already married and having marriage problems, so this was a nice change! It hit home a lot as I struggle with infertility and I remember the heartache and the stress that comes with it.

This story and this relationship was not an easy one. Once you start this book, you will not want to put it down, and when you do, you won’t stop thinking about it until you pick it back up again. It CONSUMED me and I loved every word.

I can’t recommend this book enough!!

This is my second time listening to Adriana Locke’s deeply emotional story, and it was just as moving as the first time. This book is Elin and Ty Whitt’s story and wow what a story it is, a story grabs you like no other, and captivates your attention the entire time, so much so that nothing else around you matters except what is going to happen next. I loved how realistic these characters are, they are easy to relate to, connect with, and even care about. The secondary/support characters were just as amazing, and as much as I adored Elin and Ty, Cord is still a favorite and holds a special place in my heart. Elin and Ty’s marriage is on the rocks, between his injury, inability to work and other pressures in life it got too much for them, instead of dealing with it together Ty takes off to deal with it on his own, leaving Elin broken hearted. When he comes to his senses and wants her back, Elin is not sure she wants him back or can forgive or trust him to not leave again when things get tough, but Ty will not give up on her and will fight for what he wants, her. I loved how everything plays out in this book and also loved the camaraderie and the dynamics of the tight-knit circle of friends, how they supported each other and were there in time of need. This beautifully written and plotted romance story takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride and there is plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt moments, heartbreaking moments, and some heart pounding scenes that will bring you to the edge of your seat. Adriana Locke, thank you for another amazing story and unforgettable love story. 

🎧📚🎧  And for the wonderful narration, Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. They had a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Wilder absolutely nailed it as Erin, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her vulnerable side to her strength and all in between, including her caring side. Greenfield’s Ty was spot on, he too grasped every aspect of his personality, his determination, and his strengths too. Both were equally fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and their performance elevates this already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.
