About this listen

A fresh look at the wheel of the year, drawing on the power of intuition to create rituals and celebrations in harmony with your own traditions, your locale, and the climate of where you live.

When we think of the wheel of the year, the Wiccan wheel with its celebrations of the Yule, Beltane, Mabon, and Samhain come to mind. But what about a wheel of the year for the rest of us pagans and witches? As a witch living in sunny South Florida, longtime hereditary witch Temperance Alden has often felt at odds gearing up to celebrate Yule, for example, when it is 76 degrees and sunny outside.

Year of the Witch will help listeners create their own intuitive practices in harmony with the climate, culture, and local spirits where they live. It's of interest to witches coming off the Wiccan path and looking for a more personal approach to celebrating the rhythms of nature. Year of the Witch covers all aspects of this new, seasonal practice: the origins of the neo-pagan wheel of the year and why it is still so relevant today; culture, historical facts, and traditions associated with the major ceremonies; basic principles of land-based magick; how to intuitively connect to the nature below your feet and the local gods; and being a custodian to the land and its impact on our spiritual practice.

Definitely recommend this book to anyone who's new to the craft or thinks about starting, to the experienced ones and also to those who are just curious! I truly loved this book, everything is very well explained and not over complicated (which can be a thing when it comes to other books in similar topic). Every word in here feels like it flows in a magickal river, no musts, no over the top feminism, just pure, well explained Witchcraft and how we can make it work best for ourselves . It brings a new perspective and it definitely is a guide to those who might struggle with the wheel of the year or some aspects of the craft. I highly recommend and I think it's a must have for any witch. Great job!

I love it!

I thought that it will be guide on how to celebrate the year of witch… that I will learn something from it…
Book os boring, everything is repeated form other books, nothing new (accept I’ve learned that men have periods as well and contraception affects your witchcraft LOL)…
Can’t even finish it off that’s how bad it is…

Disappointing

Very American. A lot about changing the wheel to suit southern climates. I prefer an intuitive eclectic folk practice rather than rules and traditions. If you’re a beginner who needs structure and rules you may like it.

Nothing new. Focused on adapting‘rules’
