About this listen

A runaway bride. A grumpy six-hundred-year-old vampire pretending to be human. A disaster waiting to happen.

What could possibly be the most infuriating thing to a vampire disgusted by the internet? A twenty-six-year-old social media influencer who just ran out on her cheating ex-fiancé and insists on staying in Vlad's quiet castle.

But he needs money to repair his ancestral home, and Aubrey needs a place to lick her wounds after getting her heart broken.

He is ready to have humans invading his space. He is not, however, ready for her.

She wants to feed him garlic, parades around in tiny shorts, and incenses him at every turn. Can he really play house with a human? Especially one he just can't seem to fight the urge to stay away from?

The Holiday meets Dark Shadows in this grumpy sunshine, spicy, paranormal romance. It is a full-length romance with a happily ever after. For mature listeners.

I have had so much fun listening to this story. It is fun, light, sexy fluff and I mean that in the best way. Vlad is every bit the sexy undead you expect in Dracula. I absolutely ate up the age gap adjustments, and I don’t just mean the gap between Vlad and Aubrey but between Vlad and the current century. Seeing all of his adjustments to technology was a hoot. The back & forth bickering of Vlad & Doyle felt like two frat bros and I ate it up. The side cast is just as delightful as the main stars and I just know I will love the entire Monster Bae universe. Aubrey & Vlad had me cackling on the floor from the very start and I honestly don’t remember feeling so lighthearted. The grumpy/sunshine trope was the perfect choice for a stoic vampire in isolation. This book is simply lighthearted fun meets sexy vampire lore, so if that’s your thing. Meet me in Monster Bae.

Now let me take a minute on the audio because it sold me from the very first accented word. John Hartley has got a gift for accents and let me tell you I had tingles every time he spoke. Alongside him is Kasha Kensington and she is a delight. She is wonderfully bubbly and enticing as Aubrey and I adored her sass. These two played off each other like a perfect tennis match easily matching the others serve. Though I would’ve enjoyed the book, it was listening to it that made it such a memorable experience.

Fun, sexy fluff! So entertaining.
