Welcome to A Crotchety Podcast!

Isn't music a nice thing?

We (Chris Fordham and David Luck) certainly think so: as well as playing in a band together, we wanted to share our great love of music with all of you. Truth is, there's FAR too much that doesn't get the love it deserves, so as well as the stuff that everyone's heard of, we'll be introducing you (and each other!) to a ton of tracks we're certain you'll never have heard before!

When we say underrated, some of this stuff is so obscure, you can't even listen to it online!!

There'll be regular guests and no limits on decade or genre! We hope you'll join us on this journey of discovery with a splash of sense of humour and general chat thrown in!

    May 19 2026

Greetings music fans! Speaking of which, who ever said bands need to be consistent with their members?

Today, Chris and David are celebrating the music of bands that still exist (at time of writing), but with only 1 original member left. There's actually more of them than you might think! Get ready to jam out with AC/DC, Big Country, Kraftwerk and Evanescence alongside many more!

As far as we're concerned, the music is what matters most and there's plenty of it to celebrate!

    May 12 2026

Welcome back! This week's edition may be the first where listeners (that means you!) have the chance to be name-dropped, because this time, Chris and David are exploring songs with people's names in the title!

Alongside the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey and The Hollies, here we have the incredibly obscure talents of the bands i (who opened the last episode) and Electric Shocks, plus more, each with a name to sing about!

Also, there's a casual chat about drugs in songwriting, if that's your thing...
