Thoroughly enjoyable performance, the surly detective with a sprinkle of wit worked well. Atmospheric full cast production. The only thing I hated was the cheesy podbean advert at the start of each episode!

Having listened to the book many years ago, which started my continuing journey with JD Kirk Logan’s series. I was really looking forward to the dramatisation of the first book.
BUT I don’t understand why the accents are so weird, especially Logan’s, it sounds as if he was originally from Ireland and now has a mixed accent from both there and Scotland!!😫
I know the narration by Angus King in the original book was just that, however Angus, did give an individual ‘voice’ to the characters which this drama does not meet. I struggled to finish the drama, and can’t say it would have enticed me to listen to any more of the books if they had been dramatised. However as the original Logan books, have been narrated by Angus King, I would encourage anyone who doesn’t know the series to listen to them. They are great!

Just a personal preference but I much preferred Angus King doing the whole narration of the story rather than this version. No one comes close to the way he interprets each and every character, not even these actors. But like I said, just my personal opinion. I highly recommend the Logan series read by Angus King. It is fabulous.

Love the different actors playing the various characters rather than one guy trying to do all the voices, (some more successfully than others!), they are much more how I imagine them speaking when reading the books. It would be great if they make the whole JD Kirk collection! Please!!
