The first, and hopefully only time, that we are covering Illumination on this podcast with a look back at Despicable Me and the Minions films. We get into the history of Illumination as well as a look at other companies in the animation sphere and the career of Pharrell Williams.

We're going back into the DCU with the next major project in the franchise with Supergirl with the show going back to the 1984 film. We also look at the landscape of female led superhero films, Superman (2025) and the "controversies" around the upcoming Supergirl film.

One of the biggest blind spots in the podcast history is being covered over the next two weeks with a retrospective look at the Star Wars franchise with this week being focused on the pre-Disney era of the franchise with the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy.

Delving back into the world of video games this time with the far more mature and violet realm of Mortal Kombat.
