Dr. LaQuanta M. Nelson has served in education as a mentor, motivational speaker, consultant, teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district level New Teacher Academy coordinator over the last 18 years. She currently serves as the CEO of “The BOSS Educator” brand where she continues in empowering scholars and all educators on their journey to become Bold, Optimistic, Spontaneous, and Substantial. Over the years, Dr. Nelson’s background and experience in leadership has yielded her to support not only leadership development in schools, but also in organizations across multiple spectrums of business.

Nelson has found a true passion in working to help transform cultures and climates through the application of POSITIVE LEADERSHIP! She believes that through positive social and emotional relationships, everyone is capability of greatness and success. She focuses on strong teamwork amongst adults that will directly influence and reflect an increase in student achievement in schools and bottom lines in business. Dr. Nelson’s work is centered on equity and excellence for all.

As an award-winning educator, she received recognitions such as Administrator of the Year, Outstanding Administrator, and Change Agent of the Year. Dr. Nelson has presented and keynoted at conferences and events throughout the state, regional and national level. She has served on boards such as the Mississippi Department of Education Principals’ Advisory Group, MDE Middle School Task Force, Mississippi Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, and the immediate past President Executive Director of the Mississippi Association of Middle Level Education. She currently serves on the Pascagoula River Audubon Center Advisory Board and Jackson State University’s Educational Leadership Advisory Board. Dr. Nelson is now a highly sought after speaker and trainer, spreading love and light across the world!

Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Tougaloo College. She earned a Masters of Education degree in Elementary Education an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration. In 2012, Dr. Nelson obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy degree from the University ofSouthern Mississippi in the area of Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Administration.
